1. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS & CONDITIONS


The following Terms & Conditions govern your use of the ScatterMats Rugs & Runners Website ("Website") located at "www.scattermats.com.au" and the materials and information accessible on or from the Website. The Website is only available for use by persons over the age of 18 years or of an age to legally enter into binding agreements.

Your use of the Website means you accept these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, please do not use or visit the Website.

The following Terms & Conditions also apply to any purchases made in-store at ScatterMats Rugs & Runners located at Unit 5/108 Welshpool Road, Welshpool, Western Australia 6106.


2. WEBSITE ORDERS & DELIVERIES


Free Shipping*: This (*) Asterix after the wording of Free Shipping denotes that orders above the amount of $200 are entitled to Standard Free* Shipping but is still subject to Conditions as mentioned below.

Free* Shipping Australia Wide* or the $25 Flat Fee may be insufficient to cover the ScatterMats Standard Shipping allowance. This can be due to, but not limited to the Courier Companies costs of delivery to Regional, Remote or Un-frequented locations, as well as Extra-large, Bulky or Heavy items for delivery. ScatterMats will notify the customer by email or phone if any Extra charges apply. The customer then may elect to cancel the order and will receive a full refund of any monies already paid.

All orders placed through the website are subject to confirmation and acceptance by ScatterMats Rugs & Runners.

All orders are accepted on the condition that you accept the Terms & Conditions. ScatterMats Rugs & Runners may revise any of its policies from time to time without notice. Please check here regularly if you wish to stay up to date with any changes.

Where the goods are not available at time of order, you will be notified by ScatterMats Rugs & Runners as soon as possible, if we are unable to acquire the goods, a full refund will be given.

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners aims to include up-to-date pictures of all the products for sale on the website. However, our picture may differ slightly from the goods delivered, due to many reasons such as computer screen settings and difficulty of capturing the correct image colours on camera.

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners will deliver the goods you order to the address you specify in your order, approximately within the agreed time frame. Time frame is subject to availability and courier reliability.

Any persons at the delivery address who receives the goods will be presumed by ScatterMats Rugs & Runners to be authorized to receive the goods.  If there is no-one at the delivery address or no-one of appropriate age to receive the goods, ScatterMats Rug & Runners may charge you additional delivery fees. If you have requested special delivery instructions in your order (such as leaving at door if not home etc.) then ScatterMats cannot cover you for insurance if the product is not there when you arrive home.

Once the goods are delivered to your specified delivery address, you will own them, and it is your responsibility if they are lost or damaged.  Please ensure that you inspect the packaging of goods for damage before signing the delivery docket.  If damaged, please state that on the couriers copy of the delivery docket and notify us immediately. Note that as the courier companies used for shipping are not connected with ScatterMats, ScatterMats accepts NO Responsibility for Courier mishaps. (shipping costs are not covered by insurance).


3. WEBSITE PRICES & PAYMENT

For each online order, you must pay:
       * The applicable price for the relevant goods confirmed by ScatterMats Rugs & Runners and/or;
       * The delivery and handling fee specified on the website at the time, or confirmed at a later date.
       * Payment must be cleared before the goods are dispatched.  All payments are to be made through the payment system provided by the website, unless otherwise agreed.
    We are unable to accept COD payments.

Prices and availability are subject to change without notice. Typographical, product description, pricing, images and other errors are subject to corrections, even after orders and/or payment are accepted.

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners may vary prices in the event of price changes or mistakes made by suppliers on reasonable prior notice to you. If ScatterMats Rugs & Runners requests payment for the increased prices, you may cancel the order by giving notice to ScatterMats Rugs & Runners, which must be received within 7 days of the announcement of the increase, and/or before dispatch of the goods.

3 a. LAY-BY TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. ScatterMats accept Lay-bys on goods. Ask our store staff if the product you are interested in is available for lay-by. This means the goods are set aside for you after you have agreed to the Terms of our Lay-by Policy (unless it is a special order in, see clause 3b). You will pay a deposit and agree to pay the balance of the purchase price over a number of instalments (usually 2 or more). Instalments can be accepted weekly, fortnightly or monthly as long as the final payment is paid no longer than 60 days from the date of the order.
  2. Only goods with a value of more than $50.00 can be placed on Lay-by, with a minimum deposit of 20% of the value of the order or $20.00, whichever is greater.
  3. Lay-By payments can be made at the store where the goods are held or Online through our website. If through the website payments can be made by the direct deposit payment option due to website limitations.
  4. One Lay-by agreement per customer at any one time, the Lay-by must be paid in full before any goods can be taken.
  5. Where a Lay-by purchase includes more than one item, the items cannot be separated.
  6. Unless authorised by the Store Manager, failure to pay the instalments on time and in full means you have broken the lay-by arrangement and the goods will be returned to stock in the store or supplier.
  7. We can only terminate the arrangement if you fail to pay the instalments within the agreed time. If the lay-by agreement is terminated, all money paid by you, except for the setup fee will be refunded but you must pay a $25.00 Termination Fee.
  8. If the product you have chosen to lay-by is not in ScatterMats showroom floor stock, we will email you the Terms & Conditions for this special type of layby for you to agree to before ScatterMats can accept the layby, see clause 3b.
  9. Please talk to our staff if you have any questions about the process.
  10. Customers must be 18 years old to purchase on lay-by.

     3 b. For Special Lay-by orders of products not held in ScatterMats Welshpool store, the items may have to be shipped from one of our suppliers to us which incurs a Shipping Fee, therefore, in the circumstance of any cancellation of this type of layby, any Shipping Fee inward & outward and any Restocking Fee (charged by the Supplier) for return of the item to the supplier will be deducted from the monies already paid by the customer plus ScatterMats $25 Termination Fee.


4. REFUNDS/ EXCHANGES

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners must be notified by means of email immediately after delivery is made of goods for any of the following;
Goods purchased on the website that are unsuitable may be Exchanged for an item of equivalent value or pay extra for any items of greater value or your account can be left in credit. However these products must be free of any dust, dirt, human or animal hair etc. And providing that the product(s) is returned to us undamaged and in its original condition and packaging or suitably wrapped and labelled. If the goods have to be cleaned, funds up to the amount of $300.00 but not limited to, will be deducted from your amount already paid and/or the item exchange may be rejected and any costs of goods to be returned will be at the purchaser's expense. No refunds will be given for any purchases made on the website.

If incorrect products have been sent to you, you must notify us of the error immediately after accepting the delivery. The goods need to be returned in its original packaging and condition, we will arrange for the incorrect goods to be returned to us at no charge to you. The correct goods will be dispatched as soon as we have received the original item & with no extra postage charges incurred to the buyer.

If you decide to return your item and is approved by ScatterMats, then we may credit your ScatterMats account the Purchase price, Less Delivery Fees (to cover the outward and or inbound delivery costs or to cover re-delivery costs) and any associated Administration Fees or Restocking Fees. ScatterMats may or may not arrange the freight return, but costs will be at customers expense, and, NO Responsibility will be held by ScatterMats for the item being returned. Simply return the item in "as purchased condition" within 48 hours of receiving the product.

Refunds may only be given when goods are purchased in person from the showroom in Welshpool (stocked items only) and are only refundable within 24 hours of purchase, however they must be free of any dust, dirt, human or animal hair etc. And providing that the product(s) is returned to us undamaged and in its original condition and has no evidence of use. If the goods have to be cleaned, funds to the amount of $300.00 but not limited to, will be deducted from your amount paid and/or the item Refund/Exchange may be rejected.

On receipt of goods: Goods found to be faulty by manufacturing may be replaced and/or discounted at ScatterMats Rugs & Runners discretion. This can only happen when proof is forwarded by means of photographs for damaged items and/or item has been returned for manufacture faults visually determined by ScatterMats or a ScatterMats Supplier's Representative.

Any items being unable to be delivered by Courier, due to no person to receive goods or decide to cancel or reject the order prior/upon delivery, you will be refunded their purchase price less delivery fees (to cover the outward and or inbound delivery costs or, to cover re-delivery costs &/or RTS costs) and any associated Administration fees or Restocking fees determined by ScatterMats.

Any product purchased Off the Roll, By the Meter (Custom Cut/Special Order) or has been Modified in any way, misused in any way, CANNOT be Refunded or Exchanged. This applies to purchases Online &/or In-store.

5. GST

GST will be included within the prices and fees charged by ScatterMats Rugs & Runners and is payable by you at the same time as you pay such prices and fees.  All prices quoted include GST.


6. WEBSITE FRAUD

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners is committed to reducing fraud. Our policy is that we will prosecute any cases of fraud that we identify.  Should any transaction be completed on the website or in-store using a stolen credit card or by means of a fraudulent manner in any way we will co-operate with the relevant authorities to prosecute the offender. We may require "Proof of Identity" for certain transactions and we may reject any order at our discretion, remember this is for your protection and ours to help combat Internet Fraud.


7. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners will take all reasonable efforts to ensure that information concerning your personal information and any other data that you transmit through the website is kept secure. However, you store this information at your own risk, and ScatterMats Rug & Runners will not be liable for any unauthorized access to, or loss of that information.

We won't disclose any personal information to other parties other than for our own marketing purposes.


8. DOWNLOADING OF DOCUMENTS

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners will take all reasonable efforts to ensure that files that you download from this website are free from viruses, worms, Trojan horses and other material of a destructive nature, your access to or use of them is at your own risk.


9. VARIATION OF THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners may change these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on the website.  You are responsible for reviewing the website to ensure compliance with these Terms & Conditions (as varied from time to time).

10. Layby

  1. ScatterMats accepts lay-bys on goods. Ask our store staff if the product you are interested in is available for lay-by. This means the goods are set aside for you after you have agreed to the terms of our lay-by policy. You will pay a deposit and agree to pay the balance of the purchase price over a number of instalments (usually 2 or more). Instalments can be accepted weekly, fortnightly or monthly as long as the final payment is paid no longer than 60 days from the date of the deposit.
  2. Only goods with a value of more than $50.00 can be placed on lay-by with a minimum deposit of 20% of the value of the item or $20.00, whichever is greater.
  3. Lay-By payments can be made at the store where the goods are held or online through our website. If through the website, payments can only be made by the direct deposit payment option due to website limitations.
  4. One lay-by agreement per customer at any one time. The lay-by must be paid in full before any goods can be taken.
  5. Where a lay-by purchase includes more than one item, the items cannot be separated.
  6. Unless authorised by the store manager, failure to pay the instalments on time and in full means you have broken the lay-by arrangement and the goods will be returned to stock in the store.
  7. We can only terminate the arrangement if you fail to pay the instalments within the agreed time. If the lay-by agreement is terminated, all money paid by you, except for the set up fee, will be refunded but you must pay a $25.00 Termination Fee.

11. ScatterMats Warranty

ScatterMats Rugs & Runners may replace a Rug purchased from our Welshpool store within 12 months of the purchase date that is deemed to be “faulty” by ScatterMats Rugs & Runners &/or the Product Manufacturer. Simply contact ScatterMats regarding the faulty product and we will determine if it is covered under our Full Warranty or Pro-rata Warranty. Returning of the product back to ScatterMats or back to you may be at your own expense.

Conditions:

  • Proof of Purchase – ScatterMats Rugs & Runners Receipt with date of purchase or bank statement or invoice.
  • Pro Rata Warranty- This means exchange or replacement value is taken into consideration depending on how long you have the product for (this is because you have had a certain amount of use already from the product).
  • “Faulty” relates to manufacturing faults as determined by ScatterMats Rugs & Runners.
  • “Faulty” does not apply to; stains, fading, watermarking, where product has shrunk or stretched due to water damage, flattening of pile, reasonable fluffing, pilling or shedding, damage to over locking, rugs exposed to sunlight, any products or Rugs used in a Commercial area / use, curling or bubbling or misuse.
  • Replace means of an equivalent value of purchase price, replace does not equate to a refund.
  • ScatterMats Rugs & Runners reserves the right to Repair an item or product at its discretion.
  • Warranty does not apply to bath mats and/or carpet remnants.
  • Warranty does not apply to ScatterMats Rugs & Runners Overlocking Service.
  • Warranty does not apply to Rugs or products damaged by cleaning or by being cleaned with incorrect or inappropriate cleaners.
  • Warranty does not cover a Rug or product that has been modified in any way.
  • Warranty does not cover lack of care, poor maintenance, accidental damage or tampering to the product.

 

ScatterMats – Hire Terms & Conditions (Australia)

Welcome to ScatterMats Rugs & Runners, your trusted destination for Red Carpet and Event Runner Hire in Perth.
We’re committed to providing a clear, fair and professional service for every customer.

These Terms & Conditions outline the responsibilities and obligations of both ScatterMats and the Hirer in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


1. Bookings & Payment

  • All hire bookings and payments are order and pay online or Instore.

  • Scattermats will hold a refunable temporary security bond from your credit card in case of damage or loss of the products, at which point the hirer authorizes ScatterMats to hold securely the number, expiry date and security code of the card until the products are returned and processed by ScatterMats.

  • Refundable Pre Authorisation Holding Security Bond in Detail

    1.2m x 6m $249, 1.2m x 8m $312, 1.2m x 10m $387, 1.2m x 12m $449

  • Any damage, loss or stains in which the product is no longer suitable for hire, will incur a charge to the hirer, to the value of the full replacement cost of the product being shipped into the ScatterMats Welshpool Store. 

  • A fee is payable if any of the following occurs with your booking and may be used to cover:

    • Late fees

    • Cleaning or damage charges

    • Replacement costs for lost or stolen products

  • The Hirer’s liability for any loss or damage is not limited to the product amount.


2. Hire Periods

  • 24-Hour Hire: Pickup time to the same time on the next business day (except for weekend hire).

  • Friday–Monday Weekend Hire: Pickup Friday, return Monday at the same time.

Please ensure items are returned on time to avoid late fees, (full days hire for every day late return).


3. Shipping, Collection & Returns

  • Shipping: ScatterMats can deliver to your location, or you may pick up in-store (Mon–Fri).

  • Returns: The Hirer is responsible for being present at the delivery location to accept the items. If no one is available to receive the delivery, items may be left in a safe location at the discretion of the Courier, Re-delivery fees may apply and are the responsibility of the Hirer. ScatterMats does not arrange return shipping. The Hirer must return hired items on time and in good condition, must return the original wrapping plastic bag or a $10 fee applies.

  • The Hirer is responsible for ALL Return shipping costs and transit risks.

4. Cleaning Responsibilities

  • All items must be cleaned before return.

  • Cleaning fees apply for unclean or stained items and may be deducted from your credit card.

Indicative cleaning charges (per item): Depends on size and colour:

  • Vacuum clean – from $25

  • Wipe/ Clean - from $20, White and Ivory from $40

  • Shampoo clean – from $50 White and Ivory from $60

  • Spot stain removal – from $50 White and Ivory from $70

5. Setup Requirements

If the Hirer performs setup, the Carpet Runner / products must be placed on a clean, flat and dry surface.
ScatterMats is not liable for injury, damage or accidents caused by improper setup or unsafe surfaces.


6. Responsibilities During Hire

  • The Hirer is responsible for all items from Collection or delivery until return.

  • Items must be used only for their intended purpose.

  • Goods must be kept clean, dry and protected from damage or exposure to weather.

  • The Hirer must not alter any item (e.g. cutting, stapling, gluing, or painting).

  • ScatterMats may terminate the hire immediately if these terms are breached.


7. Damage, Loss & Cleaning

  • All hire goods remain the property of ScatterMats.

  • Items will be inspected and tested upon return. The Hirer may request to be present during testing.

  • Any damage, loss or theft during the hire period is the responsibility of the Hirer.

Examples of Chargeable Damage:

  • Burns, rips, holes or staple marks but limited too

  • Permanent stains (e.g. wax, mould, rust, graffiti, food or drink spills)

  • Heavy soiling requiring professional cleaning

ScatterMats may deduct cleaning or repair costs from the bond.
Normal wear and tear is expected and not charged.


8. Cancellations & Refunds

In accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL):

  • 14+ days before event: Full refund of deposit.

  • 7–13 days before event: 50% of hire fee is non-refundable.

  • Less than 7 days: No refund.

ScatterMats may offer a credit or date change if an event is postponed due to weather or venue issues.

Refunds are not provided for change of mind, but may be issued in cases of major service failure as defined under the ACL.


9. Consumer Guarantees (ACL Compliance)

ScatterMats complies fully with the Australian Consumer Law.
Customers are entitled to:

  • Hire goods that are of acceptable quality – clean, safe and fit for purpose.

  • Services performed with due care and skill, within a reasonable timeframe.

If an item is faulty, unsafe or not as described, ScatterMats will repair, replace or refund the hire fee in accordance with ACL obligations.


10. Liability & Insurance

  • The Hirer is responsible for obtaining their own insurance for hired items.

  • ScatterMats does not provide insurance for loss, theft or damage during the hire period.

  • The Hirer is 100% responsible for repair or replacement costs of any lost, stolen or damaged goods.

  • ScatterMats accepts no liability for injury, loss or damage caused by misuse or negligence.

Late Returns

Late returns incur the FULL daily hire charge for each additional day until items are returned.


11. Ownership & Amendments

  • All hired goods remain the property of ScatterMats Rugs & Runners.

  • Hired items must not be sold, sublet or assigned to another party.

  • ScatterMats reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.


12. Hirer Acknowledgement

By ticking the agreement box at checkout, you confirm that you:

  • Accept full responsibility for any loss, damage or theft.

  • Will immediately report any damaged or non-working equipment by phone (9418 3567) or email (sales@scattermats.com.au).

  • Understand that all equipment must be returned clean, otherwise cleaning fees apply.

  • Agree to these ScatterMats Rugs & Runners Hire Terms & Conditions in full.
