Shipping ETA?

Depending on where you are in Australia, shipping varies depending on the size of the rug or product order, and whether or not we have everything you ordered in stock. Normally between 1–10 business days. See more Shipping Info.

Where is my order?

Please use the tracking information we sent in the Shipping Confirmation Email to track your item. If you have not received the email, check your Spam folder. This email will include courier website and tracking number. If the item has not arrived in the allocated time-frame, please contact us & also the courier company.

Can I order online and pick up in-store?

Yes.

What should I do when I have the Free* Shipping option and Flat Rate Shipping Option $25?

If your order is above $200, you may be eligible to receive Free* Shipping depending on your location and size of order. Even if you live in the Metro area, in some cases you will need to pay additional shipping costs. If you are an international customer, extra shipping charges apply.

Do you ship Australia wide?

Yes.

Do you ship out of Australia?

Yes, to New Zealand, although extra shipping charges will apply, and direct deposit payments only.

What if I don’t like the rug when I get home?

We offer a 24-hour refund or exchange on most purchases when purchased instore at our Welshpool store, and an exchange policy online. See ScatterMats Terms and Conditions.

Do you have this in a larger size?

Most floor rugs come in 3 or more sizes. If it is not stated within the product description or size option itself, call us and we can let you know!

How do I stop my rugs from moving around?

We have a few different options depending on if they are on carpet or on hard floors. Check out this link to find out more: Rug Pads Underlay.

Why are rugs different prices?

Each rug’s size, quality, density, and type of material can determine a change in the price. Please read the rug description for information on each individual rug.

How easy is this rug to clean?

Most rugs are quite easy to clean if vacuumed regularly and spot cleaned with Scattermats Spot Cleaner warm soapy water if liquid is spilled on them. For best results in prolonging rug life, ScatterMats Rug Guard (Scotch Guard) should be applied.

Will this rug shed?

Some rugs may have loose material that hasn’t quite been attached to the base. Especially with hand tufted rugs, it will appear as if the rug is shedding, though this should stop after vacuuming quite a few times, for example we took a rug home and it moulted for a few months then it was fine. If it does not, please contact us as it may be faulty.

Can I get a rug modified?

Modifying rugs can be arranged, but only certain styles and colours due to limitations on how they are made & patterned.

How much is delivery if I buy online?

If the order is over $200, shipping is Free* for metro areas. If under $200, shipping costs $25 for metro areas. Extra charges may apply for larger orders, regional locations, and international orders.

Do you have matching runners?

Some rugs come with matching runners. This will usually be stated in the product description, but do not hesitate to contact us to find out.

What is the warranty on the rug?

ScatterMats 12 Month Rug Warranty*.

How do I stop my rug from curling up?

Curling happens when the ends of the rug are kicked, usually from people dragging their feet or rugs sitting on top of carpets. You can roll the rug the other way and crease or fold it in the opposite direction to try and mitigate this.

Can I get express shipping?

Yes, but you will need to contact us for a quote. Extra charges will apply.

Do you do lay-by?

Yes, we do lay-by instore & also through our website. See ScatterMats Terms and Conditions.

How do I do the online lay-by?

Just purchase your item as normal. When you get through to the payment option, select the Direct Transfer method. In the comments box, type that this is a lay-by, then proceed as normal.

Event Carpet, Bollards & Rope Hire – FAQ (Perth)

 

Who can hire event carpets and bollards from ScatterMats?

Anyone in the Perth Metro area can hire our event carpet runners. Our bollards, ropes, and retractable stanchions are available for in-store pickup from our Welshpool location.

What products can I hire from ScatterMats?

- Event carpet aisle runners
- Retractable belt bollards
- Bollards & ropes (stanchions & braided silky ropes)
Perfect for: Weddings, corporate events, product launches, parties, red carpet entrances, media events, and exhibitions.

What areas do you deliver to?

- Carpet runners are delivered within Perth Metro only
- Bollards & ropes are in-store pickup only
- We do not ship hire items outside Perth Metro

What sizes are available for carpet runners?

- 6m, 8m, 10m & 12m lengths
- Widths of 1.2m or 1.35m
- Suitable for one or two people walking side-by-side

What carpet colours do you offer?

Available colours include: Red, Blue, Black, White, Ivory, and Hot Pink

Are the carpets suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Our carpets are suitable for: Indoor use, short grass, smooth or semi-soft surfaces. We also offer red rubber-backed, non-slip runners for harder surfaces.

How long is the hire period?

- 24-hour hire (weekday only)
- Friday to Monday hire (pay one day for the whole weekend)

When should I book for weekend events?

For weekend events, we recommend booking by Thursday 1pm to allow time for delivery within Perth Metro.

How do I book?

All bookings must be made online or in-store at Welshpool. Payment must be completed before collection or delivery.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes. A refundable security bond will be pre-authorised on your credit card or by cash/direct deposit before hire. The bond may be used for damage, late return charges, cleaning costs, or replacement for lost/stolen items.

Do I need to clean the products before returning?

Yes. Cleaning fees apply if returned dirty or stained: vacuuming, wipe down, shampoo cleaning, stain treatment (extra for White & Ivory ranges).

What happens if the carpet or bollards are damaged?

The hirer is responsible for all damage, stains, loss, or theft. Any item returned with burns, holes, rips, dents, or permanent staining may incur repair charges, professional cleaning costs, or full replacement fees.

Can I set the items up myself?

Yes, but the surface must be clean, dry, and level. Improper setup causing damage or injury is the hirer’s responsibility.

ScatterMats does not set up items for customers.

Do you provide insurance?

No. The hirer is responsible for obtaining their own insurance if required.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Cancellation terms under Australian Consumer Law: 14+ days – full refund, 7–13 days – 50% refund, less than 7 days – no refund. Credits may be offered for weather or venue issues at ScatterMats’ discretion.

What happens if I return items late?

Late returns are charged at the full daily hire rate per day until returned.

What if something goes wrong with my hire?

Under Australian Consumer Law you are entitled to goods of acceptable quality and services provided with due care and skill. If an item is faulty or unsafe, we will repair, replace, or refund where required by law.
